Goodbye Braces...Hello Beautiful Smile!!!!!
With much anticipation today was the big day, today she could say aloha to the braces! What an amazing way to start our Friday...we walked in and were greeted with warm friendly alohas as always and given a flower lei. The office was decked out for the special occasion with balloons, limbo line and a full candy bar...it was amazing!!!! The staff was in their beach attire and the music was rocking!
Adventure Dental is a great place!!! Dr. Todd was one of Awbrey's dentist in California and I had no idea that when he moved he moved to Vancouver so you could just imagine how excited I was to see the Adventure Dental Sign when we moved here. What a small world it is. I felt such a relief knowing I didn't have to search for a new dentist. Dr. Todd introduced us to Dr. Neil when it was time for braces. I can't express my thanks enough to the crew at Adventure Dental for making this such a positive experience. You're truly a remarkable group of people!

A Beautiful Day Full of Fun and Friends
We spent the after noon with great friends having some fun in the sun. It has been a long time since we had a beautiful sunny day and what better way to spend it other than with great friends. The kiddos had a blast decorating the eggs while we all soaked up some much needed vitamin D.

Subway Art
I love decorating for the holidays and I found a wonderful blog TodaysFabulousFinds that creates Subway Art that you can print. Here's what I did for Easter.
Good Friday
"Father forgive them for they know not what they do"
Matthew 27:32-61 (New International Version)
The Crucifixion of Jesus
32 As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. 33 They came to a place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). 34 There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it. 35 When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. 36 And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. 37 Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Two rebels were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. 39 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads 40 and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” 41 In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. 42 “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. 43 He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” 44 In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
The Death of Jesus
45 From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”)
47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”
48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”
50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”
55 Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

He Has Risen Rolls
Ingredients:
• 1/2 stick of butter (melted)
• Large marshmallows (8 of them). it only works with fresh marshmallows…if you use stale ones, the tomb won’t be “empty”.
• A bowl of cinnamon and sugar mix
• Take the white marshmallow. Jesus was pure and sinless like this marshmallow.
Roll marshmallow in butter and then in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. The butter represents the anointing oil and the cinnamon-sugar mixture represents the spices--both items were put on Jesus' body before they laid him in the tomb.Wrap the biscuit around the marshmallow and seal the dough around it. This part is very important--make sure the dough is completely sealed around the marshmallow. After they put Jesus in the tomb, they rolled a large stone in front of it to seal it.
Place on the cookie sheet. Tip: I sort of wrapped the dough around the marshmallow and pinched the dough together. Make sure that the side that you did the most "pinching" and "sealing" becomes the "bottom" of the tomb/roll. This will help keep the roll sealed.
Otherwise, this will happen (see below). The roll will bake apart, exposing the marshmallow
Place the tray of rolls in oven for about 10-12 minutes or until done.
Let the rolls cool and then serve.
Encourage your little ones to break open the tomb to look for Jesus. Where is he? He has risen!
How do the He Has Risen! rolls taste? "Taste and see that the Lord is good..." Psalm 34:8
The rolls taste sweet, of course. Easter is a time to celebrate the sweetest gift of all--our salvation through Jesus. Although he was blameless, he died on the cross for our sins; was buried in a tomb from three days; then rose from the dead.

Counting Down...
It's a beautiful spring day and it's official...braces are coming off on April 29th...Yahoo!!!!! She did her impressions and picked out her retainer color today. She's so excited and seriously is counting down the days. A special request for nachos has already been asked for on the day she gets them off :) how could I disagree with that? I will post before and after pictures after her appointment, it's incredible to see how much difference there is.
Enjoy your Tuesday

Honors
This morning I got to hang out with my girl at school and watch her and her friends be awarded certificates for their great dedication to school with having 3.7 to 4.0's. I am so happy and extremely proud that she takes school serious and enjoys going. She has a great group of friends and they support each other all the way. Here is a pic that I snapped on my cell phone because silly me forgot my other camera on the table and I didn't want to be late. My friends took more so I will share those once I get them.
Happy Friday :)

Hello everyone…well this has been really on my mind for the past several days and I’m feeling like FB is consuming way to much of my time and that I’m missing out on what’s happening right in front of me. I find myself getting home and heading straight for the computer to see what’s happening and I mean really I just got off the darn computer with work and that’s at least 8 hours of it. There are many other things I could be doing with that time so I’ve decided that I’m going to dramatically cut the time I allow myself on FB. I will check it once in awhile to see if I have messages but I really want to break the habit of just hanging out on it. One of my friends Sara wrote something in her blog that hit the nail on the head for me; she decided to give up FB for lent (40 days) and since then she has found enjoyment in the extra free time that it has given her. She is getting to do things she might not have made time for. I want that! I would rather use my free time to get into my bible and read Gods word, do my life journal, spend more time with my family outdoors, taking my little buddy on a walk, taking more pictures and working on my photography, setting the example for my daughter that you don’t need to be on FB all the time and for me to learn how to be still. I run all the time and I don’t allow myself much down time. You know…where you just hang out and not worry about what you have or want to do but enjoy not running…to embrace the moment. And instead of jumping on FB maybe just maybe pick up the phone or even better yet face to face communication with my family & friends rather than commenting on a status. How impersonal is that?
I want to read One thousand gifts and for those that know me I am not a reader. It has been a long time since I’ve just sat down and read a book. In fact I have a couple of books that I would like to read that seem to have caught my interest...WOW I can’t believe I’m saying I want to read books. I guess as I get older I’m realizing that I need to appreciate the simpler things - those are the things that really in the end add up to the most. If you hurry along and not allow yourself to stop to smell the posies guess what your baby is no longer a baby and she is now a beautiful young woman. Life happens fast so I want to fully enjoy and embrace it as it comes!!!
Lets get together and have a cup of coffee together I would love to visit...here's to a new adventure!!!!

Yay Feathers!!!!
Missy has waited a long time for feathers since I wouldn't let her get them until she was done with swimming...so today she was so excited to finally get her feathers oh and a 3 barrel curling iron for waves - yay no more braiding :) not that I really minded but I'm sure she will be much happier not having to sleep on a head full of braids.

Thru My Daughters Eyes...
You know when someone has a knack at something and it just comes easy to them...well I would have to say that's my kid. She has such a creative eye with what she takes pictures of. Sometimes I'm wondering what in the world are you doing until I see her finished product and then I'm like ooh I love it. Enjoying my time off getting to just hang out with her. Good times, cherish the moments that are not planned because sometimes those are the best! Happy Friday :)

Innocence & Purity
This has been an amazing weekend. It started off with me and my daughter headed out for our night at the Heathman Lodge to have fun, bond and do the Passport2Purity. This is an amazing study to help parents connect and bond with their children with the uncomfortable stuff and to talk to them about protecting their innocence and purity.
Her ring :0) she picked it out and it looks so good on her!

Saturday we came home and got ready for her celebration with friends and family. It was an amazing time.
GREAT Friends!!!!
Mimi & Papa
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Truly blessed to be surrounded by these amazing people.
