I Cherish These Times

In February my mom came for an extended visit with the three of us and we're enjoying her being here!! I'm not used to living this far away from her and since we've moved I'm very grateful that they have made several trips here and last summer we were able to get down to California but it's not the same. She is my best friend! I can come to her with anything. I'm truly myself when I'm around her. It's getting close to the time where she will be heading back home and I'm already starting to feel sad. I know, I know what you're going to say but seriously I wished they lived here. Awbrey and her are enjoying hanging out and having it feel like old times. I know Awbrey is so very happy that her Mimi is here for her entire swim season and was able to make every meet including her district meet tomorrow :) These are the times you cherish...the ones that fill your heart with joy and lasting memories. Thank you for everything mom and I love you with all of my heart!

Rainy Days

On days like this you dream of sitting at home all cozied up in your comfies either watching a movie (chick flick of course) or reading a good book if you are a reader, which I am not but I am trying to branch out and I have picked up a couple to read. I'm in the process of reading

I found this book from a blog that I follow Linen + verbena this is a wonderful blog and I love reading her post. Check it out when you get a chance I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Last week I was sharing with one of my friends that I'm trying to get into reading and she mentioned a book that I think will be fantastic for me -

Delicate Beauty

I love Ranunculus! They are so beautiful and delicate.  I love having fresh cut flowers in the house and I love simple arrangements...ones that don't need a lot of fluff to enjoy their simple beauty.

Vintage Mason Jar to Soap Dispenser :)

My mom and I were out on Saturday and went to an antique show for the Barn House. These mason jars were there and I loved the color of them and thought I could do something fun for Awbrey's bathroom which is a beach theme. I had no idea it would become this...I was thinking more like white pebbles or shells haha. My mom was blog surfing and came across this awesome idea (sorry I can't remember which one she found it at because I would love to give kudos to them) anyway I searched for the perfect pump that was the right length and I thought the black would look definitely better than a clear one. So my loving husband drilled the hole and viola!!!! Awesome soap dispenser with some style :)

Artsy Fartsy...

Awbrey loves to grab the camera and just start taking pictures of anything and everything. Sometimes I wonder until she shows it to me and then I'm like WOW...she has an amazing eye I think and very creative on her takes. She has a blast editing them and making them her own little piece of art. I love the sparkle in this one.

So Proud!!!!

One certain girl in our household has been anxiously awaiting a certain letter from Skyview (her High School to be in the fall) letting her know if she was accepted into the SMT (Science-Math-Technology) magnet program. Well it came today and with excitement and some nervousness she opened it....

Yay she made it!!!!! She is bouncing off the walls, good luck getting her to go to bed tonight LOL. Her dad & I are so very proud of her and excited for her. This will be a great adventure and challenge. I am so very thankful that she loves school and challenges herself to push further.
